Vote Lisa Stirgus for Auburn City Council by Nov 7th!

PROVEN LEADERSHIP

With over two decades of leadership experience in financial services, Lisa Stirgus will be a courageous and collaborative voice in advancing for change on the Auburn City Council. She will be relentless in advocating for safe and clean streets, with a foundational belief that when every street in Auburn is safe and clean, everyone will thrive.

“As a leader that has managed teams in the private sector through building high performing, highly engaged teams, I believe that I can be an agent of change as a councilmember to help advance faster, better change. I will use my skills and experience in leadership, team development, and business management to be a strong voice for all Auburn residents.

In watching the city council meetings, there is a clear divide on our current city council. It’s critical that all seven seats are actively engaged and come prepared to serve. We need a council that takes pride in showing up and serving the people of Auburn, and works collaboratively with the mayor and supports policies and funding to manage the city successfully.

I believe the current make-up of the city council is serving as a roadblock to real change. We can not accept council members serving their own political agendas. Together, we can and we will bring real, meaningful solutions to make our community a safer and cleaner place!”

Why I’m Running

  1. To create healthy community policing through access, relationships, and transparency between law enforcement, city officials, and the community.

  2. To implement actionable solutions and prioritize essential city services with supportive policies and funding to end homelessness in Auburn.

  3. To connect our communities to resources and the city departments that are here to serve them.

  4. To re-evaluate current policies and prioritize funding for small business and affordable housing.

  5. To instill a culture of pride and accountability for Auburn residents and the public service sector.

Community Safety

Everyone agrees, we all want to feel safe in the community we live and work in. I love our city, and as an Auburn resident, I want to see our city realize its potential and deliver on its promises. As a council member, I’ll work to ensure our police department is fully-staffed, officers get the resources and support they need, and policies are in place to secure inclusive and equitable service for citizens. I’ll relentlessly advocate to instill a mutual respect and positive relationship between law enforcement and Auburn residents.

Strong Services

Everyone deserves the same kind of access to their local government, and I will work hard to improve communication and simplify access to ensure all Auburn families feel included and supported. As a council member, I’ll support the work of our Human Services staff and continue to seek partnerships between the city and non-profit organizations that provide critical resources and assistance, while also sharing that information loudly so more people know what’s available and happening in our city. Knowledge is power!

Empowering Economy

If we want Auburn residents and visitors to shop locally at the businesses in our city, we need to ensure that every storefront is safe and clean. We need to stop crime to make sure business owners can afford to keep their business in Auburn. As a councilmember, I’ll work to help small businesses connect to the resources they need and I’ll make sure their is accountability for the city in showing business owners where their tax dollars are making impact. I’ll champion policies that support developers and landlords in offering “outside the box” options to ensure we prioritize vacancies and fill them efficiently with small businesses, community services, and affordable housing options.

Track Record

I’m not a politician, I don’t have ego. I do have pride! I come from really humble beginnings. I’ve struggled, I’ve stressed about money, marriage, parenting, and work. I’ve worked hard my entire life to turn challenging, and sometimes bad, situations in to good outcomes. I want to bring my real lived experiences as a woman leader, wife, mom, daughter, friend, and volunteer, as a blue collar worker that used grit and perseverance to become an executive leader in financial services, changing the generational cycle, to be your advocate and voice on the Auburn City Council.
